Dr. Osmar Zavaleta Vázquez is the Associate Dean of Research at the Business School of Tecnológico de Monterrey. He has held various managerial positions throughout his career at Tecnológico de Monterrey. At Campus Monterrey, at the undergraduate level, he served as Program Director, Area Director, Associate Division Director, and Division Director. He has also been the Interim Dean, Program Director, Department Director, and Campus Director at EGADE Business School.
He has participated as a visiting professor at several universities in Latin America, including the Universidad Americana in Managua (Nicaragua), the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Perú, and the Escuela Militar de Ingeniería in La Paz (Bolivia). He was the National Director of Postgraduate Studies at the Asociación Nacional de Facultades y Escuelas de Contaduría y Administración (ANFECA) (National Association of Accounting and Administration Schools) and a member of the A. B. Freeman School of Business Council at Tulane University (USA).
Zavaleta Vázquez has published academic research articles on various financial topics in national and international journals of recognized prestige; he regularly writes popular science articles and provides opinions on current issues for different media outlets; and has participated as a speaker in several academic and research conferences. His areas of expertise include Mathematics for Finance, Statistics for Finance, Finance for Energy, Financial Econometrics, Valuation of Derivative Instruments, and Investment Management.
He holds a degree in Physical Industrial Engineering and obtained a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and another in Applied Statistics from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, as well as a Master's degree in Finance and a Doctorate in Finance from Tulane University.
